Warri Youths Tear and Burn Branded Shirts at Independence Day Run
1 / 4
Youths gathered at PTI Junction in Warri for a 5km Independence Day run organised under the “Soft Nigeria Is Possible” banner. The event turned tense after participants were given green polo shirts that they believed carried President Bola Tinubu’s image. Some said they had not expected political branding at a community fitness event. Videos showed participants tearing the shirts, while a pile of the damaged clothing was later set on fire. The crowd was heard chanting “Obi, Obi, Obi,” in apparent support of Peter Obi.
