Anambra LG Poll: NSCDC Warns Electoral Offenders of Arrest and Prosecution
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Anambra has pledged adequate security before, during and after the August 29 local government elections. State Commandant Olatunde Maku said personnel have been deployed across all 21 local government areas to protect voters, electoral officials, materials and critical infrastructure. He warned that electoral violence, voter intimidation, thuggery, vandalism and other disruptions would not be tolerated. The NSCDC said offenders, their sponsors and accomplices would be arrested and prosecuted regardless of political affiliation. The command urged candidates, political parties and residents to maintain peace and report suspicious activity to the nearest NSCDC formation.
