Navy Inaugurates 250-Capacity Hall and Solar Boreholes in Cross River Community

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has inaugurated a 250-capacity multipurpose hall and two solar-powered boreholes for Kutia community in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. The projects were delivered under the Nigerian Navy’s Special Intervention Quick Impact Project and named in honour of Rear Admiral Clement Atebi, a former Chief of Naval Training. The Navy said the initiative is part of its civil-military cooperation efforts and is intended to improve living conditions in the community. The hall is expected to host meetings, educational and cultural programmes, dispute-resolution sessions, youth empowerment activities and social events. Community leaders said the solar-powered boreholes would improve access to clean water and help reduce water-borne diseases. Residents were urged to protect and maintain the facilities for long-term community use.
