Ayobami Junior Lands Maiden Super Eagles Call-Up
Shooting Stars playmaker Ayobami Junior has received his first-ever invitation to the Super Eagles squad under coach Éric Chelle. He earned a spot in Nigeria’s 27-man roster for the 2026 Unity Cup after delivering 13 assists so far this NPFL season for Nurudeen Aweroro’s side. Ayobami says he got the news from a close friend who woke him up early. “I saw the invite on my phone and I was overjoyed,” he recalled. He credits improved team welfare and his own persistence after two quiet seasons. “Delay is not denial,” he added, as he looks to help Nigeria shine on the continental stage.
