Rechael Okonkwo’s Nkoli Mega Carnival Delivers Free Healthcare to 5,000 Nsukka Residents
Actress Rechael Okonkwo’s eighth Nkoli Mega Carnival provided free medical care to more than 5,000 residents of Nsukka, Enugu State. The outreach was organised with the Franklin Junior Foundation after the carnival returned from a two-year break. Doctors, nurses and laboratory personnel offered consultations, medication, reading glasses, wheelchairs and walking aids. Patients who needed specialised treatment, including for conditions such as malaria and glaucoma, were referred to hospitals. The carnival also distributed food and relief materials to 500 vulnerable widows, while children took part in an educational quiz and received bicycles. Okonkwo said the initiative reflects her commitment to helping people from low-income backgrounds access support, healthcare and educational opportunities.
