NYCN Urges Ogun, Federal Government to Reconstruct Abeokuta–Olorunda–Imeko Road

The National Youth Council of Nigeria in Ogun West has urged the Ogun State and Federal Governments to begin urgent reconstruction of the Abeokuta–Olorunda–Imeko Road. The council said the deteriorating route is raising transport costs, damaging vehicles and creating safety risks for residents, farmers, traders and students in Yewa North and Imeko-Afon. It recalled Governor Dapo Abiodun’s January 2026 commitment to reconstruct the road and asked the state government to provide a clear update on funding, implementation plans and the expected start date. The council also called for immediate repairs on dangerous sections, with proper drainage and erosion-control measures.
