Kano Man Arrested for Allegedly Posing as NSCDC Officer to Offer Phone-Tracking Services
A 27-year-old man, Yusuf Abdulrazaq, has been arrested in Kano for allegedly impersonating an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). He was arrested in Rimin Auzinawa, Ungogo Local Government Area, where he allegedly presented himself as an Assistant Superintendent of Corps I attached to the Kano NSCDC headquarters. The NSCDC said preliminary investigations showed that he allegedly offered to track stolen phones and used the process to extort members of the public. The suspect is in custody pending further investigation and possible prosecution. Residents have been advised to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a security operative, especially when money is demanded for questionable services.
