Woman Stabbed at Church Altar During Mass in Ireland

A woman in her 50s was attacked with a knife during a morning service at Holy Cross Church in Tramore, Waterford. She suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Waterford University Hospital for treatment. Irish police arrested a man in his 30s at a nearby residence. They have seized the weapon and are conducting a technical examination. The suspect is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. The Diocese of Waterford & Lismore expressed shock at the incident and thanked parishioners, clergy and emergency responders for their swift action.
