Imo Police Detain Four Officers Filmed Forcing Suspect Into Car Boot

The Imo State Police Command has detained four personnel seen in a viral video forcing a young man into the boot of a vehicle on Human Race Road in Nekede. Police spokesperson Henry Okoye said the incident occurred during an operation at a location suspected to be linked to drug trafficking. The team reportedly arrested two suspects and recovered substances suspected to be cannabis from one of them. The command said the officers' treatment of the suspect was unacceptable, inhumane and contrary to police procedures. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for an impartial investigation, while disciplinary action has begun. The outcome will be made public after the investigation.
