Rufai Oseni Says Buhari and Emefiele Deserve More Credit for Dangote Refinery

Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni says the Buhari administration and former CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, not President Bola Tinubu’s government, deserve the greater credit for the establishment of the Dangote Refinery. Reacting to comments by Nigeria Revenue Service chairman Zacch Adedeji on the Tinubu administration’s economic record, Oseni argued that the refinery was built under conditions created by the previous government. He cited the relative stability of the naira during Emefiele’s tenure as a key factor. Oseni also questioned the government’s crude supply arrangements for the refinery, claiming Dangote still has to source Nigerian crude through the international market. While acknowledging some gains under Tinubu, he said the administration must address the impact of its policies on businesses, foreign-exchange liabilities and household living costs.
