Destiny Boy’s Wife Marks Birthday, Opens Up About Life as a Widow and Single Mum
Ire, the wife of late singer Afeez “Destiny Boy” Adesina, marked her birthday by reflecting on life as a widow and a single mother. She said life had been difficult, but expressed gratitude to God and hoped the year ahead would bring healing, peace and financial stability for her and her son. Destiny Boy died on January 18, 2026. Police investigated his death, and an autopsy report cited toxic levels of tramadol and methamphetamine, concluding that he died from aspiration pneumonitis after ingesting the substances. The singer gained attention in 2019 with a Fuji cover of Davido’s “If” and later released songs including “Lamba” and “Gbese.” He and Ire welcomed their first child in November 2024.
