Nigeria Pledges Continued Support for UN Peacebuilding and Development Efforts
Nigeria has restated its commitment to the United Nations Charter and the organisation’s work on peace, humanitarian response and sustainable development. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Mohamed Malick Fall in Abuja. He said UN agencies, funds and programmes have supported vulnerable communities across Nigeria. The minister called for innovative funding options and stronger private-sector partnerships as humanitarian and development resources decline. Fall praised Nigeria’s contribution to the UN and recalled its regional peacekeeping role through ECOMOG.
