Troops Repel ISWAP Assault on 27 Brigade Base in Yobe, Two Soldiers Killed
Nigerian Army troops of Operation HADIN KAI repelled a coordinated ISWAP attack on the 27 Brigade Headquarters in Buni Gari, Yobe, in the early hours of Friday. The militants launched multi-directional assaults around 2 a.m. but were met with superior firepower. According to the Joint Task Force’s spokesperson, terrorists suffered heavy losses, with several neutralised and others wounded. Military operations uncovered corpses and weapons along retreat routes, while air support tracked fleeing fighters for precision strikes. Recovered armaments include AK-47 rifles, machine guns, RPG tubes, and ammunition. The camp remained secure throughout the attack, though two soldiers tragically lost their lives. Wounded personnel are receiving medical care and remain stable. Troops, supported by hybrid forces and local vigilantes, continue clearance operations to prevent enemy regrouping. Operation HADIN KAI affirms its commitment to denying freedom of movement to terrorist elements in the region.
