After observing matchmaking trends for years, I have formed the view that many women in their prime receive significant attention from potential partners through social circles and social media. I have seen how women can receive large numbers of messages from men online. In my view, this means many single women already have options through their church, school, workplace, family networks and communities. However, I may be wrong to assume that a woman using a dating app has limited options. People use matchmaking services for many reasons, including convenience, privacy, serious intentions and the chance to meet someone outside their usual circle. This is based only on what I have observed in my local cultural setting.
