Enugu Court Jails Woman for Three Years Over Theft of Four-Month-Old Baby

An Enugu Magistrate Court has sentenced 23-year-old Rejoice Odoh to three years in prison for stealing a four-month-old baby from Oye-Emene Market. The incident occurred on October 20, 2026. Odoh reportedly posed as a customer before taking the child away and presenting him to relatives in Nkanu East LGA as her son. Police traced her and recovered the baby four days later. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy and child stealing. The court ordered the two three-year sentences to run concurrently, leaving her to serve three years in prison.
