Hezbollah Downs IDF Drone as 12 Soldiers Hurt in FPV Strike
Hezbollah fired a surface-to-air missile and shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 UAV in southern Lebanon, the IDF said. They are investigating but see no sign of an information leak. Earlier, an explosive-laden FPV drone struck a military vehicle near Shomera, wounding 12 soldiers—two moderately and the rest lightly. Troops from the Hasmonean Brigade evacuated the injured for treatment. Israel responded with airstrikes, artillery fire and drone attacks across several villages in southern Lebanon. Footage circulated showing a strike on the Al-Safina seaside restaurant near Naqoura. Reports now indicate Israeli forces are withdrawing from parts of southern Lebanon under continued Hezbollah drone and rocket fire. Some outlets describe the campaign’s end as marked by “failure” and “bitterness.”
