Soludo Orders Commissioners and Aides to Hand Over Immediately as Second Term Begins
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has directed all political appointees in Anambra State to relinquish their duties without delay. This order dissolves his first-term cabinet and marks the start of a new administrative phase following his inauguration for a second four-year term. The circular, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Nwabufor Nwankwo, instructs commissioners, special advisers and senior aides to hand over to Permanent Secretaries—or, where none exist, to the most senior career civil servants—by the close of business today. This urgent handover ensures continuity in ministries, departments and agencies. A meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 23, at the ANSEC Chambers, where outgoing officials will review first-term achievements and discuss priorities for the next tenure. The exercise allows the governor to assess performance, restructure key ministries and consider reappointments where needed.
