14-Year-Old Charged in South London Stabbing That Killed 17-Year-Old Jamal Coombes
Mourners have placed flowers, candles and handwritten messages on Glycena Road in Battersea after 17-year-old Jamal Coombes was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Saturday, June 20. Police were called at 4:20 am and found Jamal with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 14-year-old boy has now been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. Two other teens, a 15-year-old boy and girl, were arrested but later released on bail. Detectives are appealing for witnesses in the Lavender Hill area between 3:30 am and 5 am to come forward with any information or footage.
