Huawei Launches Locally Hosted Agentic AI Cloud for Nigerian Businesses
Huawei has launched its Agentic AI Cloud in Nigeria at the Huawei Nigeria AI and Cloud Summit in Lagos. The platform is designed to provide locally hosted, enterprise-grade AI infrastructure for businesses dealing with security, computing capacity, latency and deployment-cost challenges. The company says the service builds on its earlier local cloud investments and will allow organisations to run AI workloads while keeping data within Nigeria. Huawei described the platform as a response to growing demand for data localisation, stronger security and faster access to computing resources. Representatives of NITDA said Nigeria needs stronger data centres, power, connectivity, cybersecurity and technical skills to support sustainable AI adoption. MTN Nigeria and Sterling Bank also outlined how local cloud infrastructure can support AI-driven customer services, network management and compliant financial operations.
