FERMA Pledges Assessment of Failed Gashaka–Sardauna Road in Taraba

FERMA Pledges Assessment of Failed Gashaka–Sardauna Road in Taraba

Senator Haruna Manu and Senator Babangida Hussaini have asked the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency to urgently intervene on the failed Gashaka–Sardauna federal road in Taraba State. The lawmakers said several sections of the Serti–Gembu route, including Mayo-Selbe, Nguroje, Lekitaba and Gembu, have deteriorated badly. They warned that gully erosion could cause parts of the road to collapse. FERMA Managing Director Chukwuemeka Agbasi said the agency will conduct an assessment and make arrangements for restoration. The senators urged FERMA to treat the road as a priority because it links Gashaka and Sardauna local government areas.
