Are Matchmaking and Dating Apps Only for Women With Fewer Options?
I have followed matchmaking trends for years, and I have formed a strong opinion about who uses them. In my experience, many young single women receive regular attention from men through social media, workplaces, schools, churches and mutual connections. I believe this gives some women more opportunity to choose a partner without relying on a matchmaker or dating app. I have seen women receive hundreds of messages online, while others are introduced to potential partners through friends and family. However, I think it is unfair to assume that every woman using a matchmaking service has the same background or reason. People may use dating platforms because they want privacy, share specific values, have limited social circles or simply prefer a more direct way to meet someone. This is only my observation from my local cultural setting. Do matchmaking services widen relationship options, or do they carry unfair stereotypes about the people who use them?
