Borno Police Say Maiduguri Suspects Were Not Arrested Solely for ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-Shirts
The Borno State Police Command says five suspects arrested in Maiduguri were not prosecuted simply for wearing T-shirts bearing the inscription, “Tinubu Must Go.” Police said officers on routine patrol at West End Roundabout on 25 September apprehended the suspects over allegations of conduct likely to cause public disturbance, breach of peace, thuggery and possession of suspected drug substances. According to the command, items recovered included 15 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, 100 tablets suspected to be D5, a shisha pot, scissors and two of the T-shirts. The police said the matter has been charged to court and urged the public to allow the judicial process to determine the case.
