Senate Shuts Down Call for PFIPC Probe Amid Scandal

On Wednesday, lawmakers rejected a motion to investigate allegations around the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). Senator Suleiman Kawu of Kano South had cited Senate Standing Orders 9 and 9(c) to demand a review of the council’s budget, operations and recent controversies. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, presiding over plenary, ruled the matter out of order, noting President Tinubu has directed the ICPC to handle the investigation.
