I have started wondering whether being a gentleman in dating is sometimes mistaken for weakness. Some women describe certain men as intentional, yet still expect them to always give in, pamper them, and tolerate being pushed around. A woman once slept over at my place, and I did not touch her because I wanted to respect boundaries and wait for clear consent. Afterwards, she said hurtful things about me and placed me firmly in the friend zone. I do not understand why some people seem drawn to partners who are rude or emotionally unavailable. Does respect truly reduce attraction, or am I misunderstanding what happened?
