Iran Links Reopening of Strait of Hormuz to End of U.S. Naval Blockade

Iran says it may reopen the Strait of Hormuz if the United States lifts its naval blockade and ends other actions restricting Iranian shipping. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said reopening the strategic waterway is conditional on the blockade being removed. He also said Iran and Oman are discussing a navigation plan, with details of a joint statement still being finalised. According to the report, the U.S. blockade has disrupted Iran’s oil exports and wider economy, with dozens of commercial vessels reportedly turned away from Iranian ports in the past week.
