Coalition Urges INEC to Sustain Neutrality Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Democracy and Good Governance Watch Initiative has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for its public engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections. The coalition said INEC should remain neutral, professional and committed to conducting credible polls. The group also called on politicians to avoid inciting rhetoric during campaigns. It urged the National Peace Committee, security agencies and INEC to enforce election laws where necessary. It encouraged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards early and carefully assess campaign promises. The coalition also called for a thorough investigation into the recent Nigerian Air Force crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
