Osun CP Receives 60 Additional Patrol Vehicles from ALGON to Boost Security

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, praised the state chapter of the Association of Local Governments in Nigeria for donating 60 new patrol vehicles. He said the gesture shows a shared commitment to strengthening security across the state and will improve operational efficiency. This follows a previous donation of 30 Hilux pickups in May. Gotan thanked ALGON under the leadership of Chairman Samuel Abiodun Idowu for the strategic support to security agencies. He assured the public that the vehicles will be maintained properly, deployed strictly for security purposes, and used to enhance patrol coverage, response times, and inter-agency collaboration to safeguard lives and property.

I'm curious, how will the new 60 patrol vehicles change daily policing across Osun communities?

Do we know if those 60 vehicles will cover remote areas or just stay around major towns?

It's interesting that ALGON donated such a large fleet, but I wonder if staffing and fuel costs were fully considered first.

This boost is welcome, but without clear maintenance and deployment plans, many of those vehicles could end up underused.

Dem need to dey maintain the motors well and schedule regular patrol shifts across all areas for maximum impact.
