Nigerian-American Lawmaker Segun Adeyina Blames Trump for Democrats’ Midterm Gains
Re-elected Georgia lawmaker Segun Adeyina says the Democrats’ strong performance in the November 3 midterm elections reflected voters’ concerns about the cost of living. He pointed to rent, mortgages, groceries and healthcare as key issues for American families. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, the Nigerian-American Democrat criticised President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy. Adeyina said the conflict with Iran added to household costs and described the Democratic gains as a “blue tsunami.” Adeyina, who represents Georgia House District 110, said his re-election showed residents’ confidence in his leadership. He was among several Nigerian-Americans who won political offices in the elections.
