FG Begins Vulnerable Persons Profiling in Zamfara, 400 Set to Receive ₦10,000 Support
The Federal Government has begun profiling vulnerable persons in selected Zamfara communities, wards and IDP camps. The exercise is being conducted through the Grant for Vulnerable Groups programme under the National Social Investment Programme Agency. Officials said the exercise will create a verified database to help ensure social protection support reaches people with genuine needs. About 400 pre-identified vulnerable persons are expected to receive ₦10,000 each as immediate assistance. A broader empowerment phase, including livelihood and economic-strengthening items, is planned for later, subject to approval. The programme targets vulnerable women, young people, persons with disabilities, older residents and conflict-affected households. Governor Dauda Lawal pledged the state government's support and called for transparency so that intended beneficiaries are not excluded.
