Group Calls for Investigation Into Banditry Allegations Against Senator Shehu Buba
The Bauchi Youth Discussion Circle has asked President Bola Tinubu to direct security agencies to investigate allegations linking Senator Shehu Buba Umar to banditry and dealings with alleged bandit kingpins. The group urged the police and the Department of State Services to conduct an independent, professional and transparent investigation. It said the claims should be established or dismissed through evidence, not political speculation. Senator Buba, who represents Bauchi South, has repeatedly denied involvement in banditry or any criminal activity. He has described viral claims against him as fabricated and has taken legal action over alleged defamatory statements. The DSS previously said investigations were ongoing. The allegations remain unproven unless confirmed by a competent authority or court.
