Police Hunt Three Suspects After Cocoa Farm Worker Is Shot Dead in Cross River
Police in Cross River State are searching for three suspects over the fatal shooting of a cocoa farm worker in Isibendeghe Community, Boki Local Government Area. The attack reportedly occurred on August 5 while three labourers were working on a cocoa farm. Police said one worker, Joseph Francis Friday, was shot dead, while Clinton Abang and Amobi Igwe escaped and later reported the incident. The farm owner alleged that three men from Boje Community had previously harassed and threatened her over activities on the farm. Detectives recovered the victim's body with pellet wounds to the chest and abdomen, believed to have been caused by a locally made firearm. The body has been taken for an autopsy as investigations continue.
