Police Arrest 23-Year-Old Allegedly Carrying Loaded Shotgun in Ikot Ekpene
Akwa Ibom Police have arrested 23-year-old Mfon Essien after he was allegedly found with a loaded locally made shotgun in Ikot Ekpene. Police said the arrest took place on September 6 along Ayah Road, off Uyo Road, following credible intelligence. The firearm, which reportedly contained a live cartridge, was allegedly concealed beneath the suspect’s clothing. Investigators are working to trace the source of the weapon and establish why it was being carried. The police command said it will continue intelligence-led operations against illegal firearms and violent crime across the state.
