Lagos Pastor Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Church Member’s Two Teenage Daughters

Police in Lagos have arrested the General Overseer and founder of a church in Isolo over allegations that he sexually abused two teenage daughters of a member. The girls’ father petitioned the police on July 28. Investigators allege that the pastor began abusing the older girl when she was 13 and continued until she was 16. The case reportedly came to light after the younger daughter, 14, told her parents that the suspect had assaulted her on two occasions. Police say the Gender Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba is handling the investigation. The suspect is alleged to have confessed, while police say he will be charged after investigations are concluded.
