Ijele Speaks Says He Rejected Plot to Assassinate Omoyele Sowore

Blogger Chizorom Harrisson Ofoegbu, known as Ijele Speaks, has revealed that he was once approached with an offer to assassinate human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore. He made the disclosure during a recent episode of the podcast “The King Of The Game,” where he reflected on his former friendship with Sowore and the events that drove them apart. Ijele explained that despite past support and even lobbying on Sowore’s behalf—while he was a staunch backer of former President Buhari—he turned down the lethal request outright. He later contacted a Defence Intelligence Agency source to verify the claim and was told Sowore posed no serious threat. He also blamed their rift on disagreements over detained separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu and alleged that political figures tried to influence narratives around the Indigenous People of Biafra. Despite their fallout, Ijele admitted that Sowore remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent activists.
