1 / 3

Three women were injured in a daytime knife attack near Porte de Clichy in Paris, with one victim reportedly pregnant. The women, aged 19, 24 and 36, were attacked at about 9:30am. French authorities said two victims suffered serious injuries and remained in critical condition in hospital. Reports said one woman was stabbed in the lower back and another in the abdomen. Police arrested a 31-year-old suspect at the scene. He was reportedly carrying two knives, while investigators examine claims that he made religiously framed statements before the attack. Authorities have also reported that the suspect may have mental health issues. The Porte de Clichy tram station was closed during the police response. Paris officials praised an off-duty police officer and bystanders who helped restrain the suspect.

People may rush to conclusions, but the report only confirms injuries and the location, not a motive.

For now, it makes sense to follow official updates and avoid spreading unconfirmed claims about the attacker.
