Accord Leadership Dispute Raises Questions Over Osun Candidates’ Tickets
A High Court judgment in Abuja on Accord Party leadership and its presidential nomination has raised fresh concerns about the party’s candidate-selection process in Osun State. Yusuf Adegboye of the Accord Liberation Movement said internal divisions and alleged irregularities in the nomination process could affect candidates, including Lere Oyewunmi, Abdulganiyu Olaoluwa and Ibukun Fadipe. He argued that disputed primaries and party structures could expose candidates to legal challenges. The affected candidates’ tickets have not been invalidated by the court ruling cited. However, Adegboye warned that the party could face wider consequences if its leadership and nomination disputes are not resolved through the legal process.
