Reports claiming he has been reunited with his family are incorrect. A video shared on August 11, 2026, showed him alive and wandering around Dallas while seeking shelter from the heat. He identified himself and mentioned his mother, Evelyn Elobuike, and his sister, Josephine Elobuike. Family members and members of the Nigerian community searched bus routes, transit stations and neighbourhoods across Dallas on August 12 but could not locate him. Residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth area are urged to stay alert and share any verified information with his family representatives.
