DICON, Turkish Firm Seal $2.5bn Deal on Drones, AI and Defence Technology
The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria has signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkish defence technology company HAVELSAN on a venture projected at about $2.5 billion. The partnership covers command-and-control systems, autonomous technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. It is expected to support knowledge transfer and expand Nigeria’s capacity to produce defence equipment locally. DICON said the agreement, signed during AFRIDEX 2026, should help address security challenges through stronger indigenous defence manufacturing. HAVELSAN said it would work with Nigerian manufacturers through capability integration and sustainable partnerships.
