Killaboi Opens Defence in Augusta Onuwabhagbe Murder Trial, Court Adjourns to October
Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as Killaboi, has opened his defence in the trial over the death of his girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe. Testifying before a Lagos State High Court, he described their relationship as loving but said disputes over an expensive vehicle created tension. He told the court that Augusta requested a Range Rover Velar and that he later promised to buy it after her graduation, despite not intending to do so at the time. A defence witness told the court that Nnayereugo feared surrendering because of social-media claims that Augusta’s death was ritual-related. The prosecution has already presented witnesses, the defendant’s written statement and a video of his interrogation. Nnayereugo, who pleaded not guilty to charges including murder and alleged interference with Augusta’s corpse, will continue his testimony on October 21 and 22, 2026. The allegations remain before the court and have not been proven.
