Edo Security Operative Overpowers Kidnappers, Rescues Two Hostages
Yusuf Kazim of the Edo State Security Corps was ambushed at gunpoint on Wednesday in Aya-Iyamo, Etsako West LGA. He and two other victims, Caleb Yusuf and Himach Suleiman, were taken into the bush. In captivity, Kazim fought back, seized an AK-47 from one of the kidnappers and forced his captors to flee. Despite sustaining serious injuries, he led the two other hostages to freedom. Deputy Corps Commander Richard Balogun praised Kazim’s bravery and confirmed he is in critical condition at a hospital. The police have taken over the investigation and are working to apprehend the suspects.
