Three Reported Dead as Flood Ravages Ugwueke Community in Abia

Residents of Ugwueke community in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State are seeking urgent assistance after days of torrential rainfall triggered severe flooding. The flood reportedly destroyed homes, farmlands and access roads, leaving parts of the community cut off. Three people were reported dead, including residents who were said to have tried to rescue people trapped by the flood. Community members are calling for relief materials, safe drinking water and improved healthcare services. Local leaders have appealed for calm and said support from relevant government agencies, including NEMA, is being arranged.
