NEDO Plans to Deploy 4,000 Observers and AI Tools for 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Election Data Observatory (NEDO), a coalition of five civil society organisations, says it plans to deploy more than 4,000 observers across Nigeria for the 2027 general elections. The observers will use the NEDO Civic App to document voting, election incidents, collation and results in real time. The information will be cross-checked with results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission and shared through a joint evidence platform. NEDO says it will also use AI-powered technology to extract and analyse data from result sheets. The coalition aims to improve election monitoring, counter misinformation and publish reports on electoral readiness and the conduct of the 2027 polls.
