Sokoto Government Denies Report That 18 Health Students Were Abducted

The Sokoto State Government has denied reports that 18 students of Gamji College of Health Technology were abducted while travelling to Oyo State. It said the incident involved Halima Sokeni, a former student who graduated as a midwife in September 2026. According to the government, she and other passengers were abducted while travelling home through Niger State on October 1. The government urged journalists and media organisations to verify reports before publication, warning that unconfirmed information could cause public panic.
