Shettima Mourns Former Gongola Governor Bamanga Tukur at 90

Vice President Kashim Shettima has mourned the death of former old Gongola State governor and ex-PDP national chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who died at the age of 90. Shettima described Tukur as a patriot, technocrat and pan-African business leader whose work helped shape Nigeria’s port infrastructure. He noted that Tukur led the Nigerian Ports Authority during the 1975 cement-armada congestion and oversaw the development of the Tin Can Island Port Complex, alongside upgrades to other ports. The Vice President said Tukur’s public service and political career left a lasting mark on Adamawa, Nigeria and Africa. He extended condolences to Tukur’s family, the Adamawa State Government and the people of the state.
