Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Recover AK-47 in Edo
Troops of Operation Wabaigigan have arrested a suspected kidnapper during an operation on the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The Nigerian Army said the suspect, Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on Saturday in Obaretin Community during operations aimed at disrupting criminal activity and securing major transport routes. An AK-47 rifle, a magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a mobile phone, bags, a torchlight and assorted charms were reportedly recovered. The suspect is in custody as investigators examine possible links to kidnapping and other crimes along the route.
