Singapore Unveils Up to S$70,000 Support Package for Every Eligible Child

Singapore Unveils Up to S$70,000 Support Package for Every Eligible Child — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Singapore has announced an expanded child-support package worth nearly S$70,000 for every eligible citizen child from birth to age 17. The package includes a S$10,000 cash gift at birth, along with MediSave, Edusave and education-related support paid in stages over 17 years. It is expected to replace older schemes, including the Baby Bonus Scheme, from April 2027. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the measures are aimed at helping families manage the cost of raising children as Singapore battles record-low birth rates. The plan also offers improved childcare leave, lower preschool costs and better housing ballot chances for larger families.
