Asake: “Money Solves 80% of My Problems and Gives Me Freedom”

Afrobeats star Asake tells Korty EO that money doesn’t fix everything but frees him to live on his own terms. He says it solves 80% of his problems. Despite spending the past year abroad, Asake owns five cars in Lagos. Since coming home in December 2025, he’s gifted his mother a Mercedes-Benz G Wagon and his father a Toyota Prado Land Cruiser. He’s also added a Rolls-Royce and another G Wagon to his fleet. The singer’s journey began in the Dramatic Arts program at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. There, actor Muyideen Oladapo (Lala) mentored him and helped launch his music career. In 2026, Asake teamed up with Wizkid for a four-track EP that’s dominating charts. Fans are eagerly awaiting his fourth studio album later this year.
