Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Says He Will Campaign in Yoruba Ahead of 2027 Lagos Poll
ADC governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour says he has hired a Yoruba teacher and will campaign in Yoruba ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election. Speaking during a television interview, Rhodes-Vivour said language and culture matter when connecting with Lagos residents. He said he had improved his Yoruba since the 2023 election, when questions about his ability to speak the language became a campaign issue. He said his campaign would also focus on flooding, housing, traffic and sanitation. According to him, these challenges affect Lagos residents regardless of their ethnic or cultural background. Rhodes-Vivour contested the 2023 Lagos governorship election under the Labour Party and finished second to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
