Ogun Disburses ₦1bn in Soft Loans, Plans ND and HND Programmes at Cooperative College

Ogun State says it has disbursed more than ₦1 billion in soft loans to cooperative societies, artisans, traders and small business owners across its 20 local government areas. The state said ₦500 million was released through its revolving loan scheme for cooperative societies, while another ₦500 million was provided under the Oko ‘Owo’ Irinse Dapo Soft Loan Initiative. Plans are also underway to upgrade the Ogun State Cooperative College in Shasha, Iperu-Remo, to offer National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes. The proposed upgrade is intended to improve professional training in cooperative management and protect members’ investments. The government also pledged land for cooperative agricultural and housing projects, while urging beneficiaries to use the loans responsibly to grow their businesses.
