One Dead, Four Rescued as Four-Storey Building Collapses in Enugu
One person has died and four others were rescued after a four-storey hotel building under construction collapsed in Enugu on Sunday, September 13. Workers were reportedly sleeping at the site when the structure came down at about 6 a.m. The victim’s body was recovered from the rubble, while rescue teams pulled four workers alive. Emergency responders, including NEMA, SEMA, the Red Cross, police and the Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority, were deployed to the scene. The cause of the collapse has not been established, and concerns remain over construction standards and regulatory enforcement.
